Samsung Galaxy S III on sale at AT&T stores beginning Friday

Samsung Galaxy S III on sale at AT&T stores beginning Friday

ATT will begin selling the Samsung Galaxy S III at its stores Friday, the company announced in a blog.

The Texas-based carrier will sell the 16-GB version of the phone in both its Marble White and Pebble Blue colors for $199.99 with a two-year contract â€" it will not sell the 32-GB version of the phone as some of its competitors do.

The company, though, has not confirmed when an ATT-exclusive red version of the phone will go on sale.

The Galaxy S III made its debut in Europe in late May but has quickly been making its way around the world, arriving in the U.S. through T-Mobile and Sprint on June 21.

ATT also shipped out pre-orders for the phone on June 25, and on Tuesday the company said any pre-orders made now are expected to ship within 10 business days of the July 6 store debut, if there is supply.

Upon ATT's store launch, Verizon will remain the last among the top four U.S. networks to begin selling Samsung's flagship.

So far, the Galaxy S III has gotten off to a good start, with expectations being that Samsung will ship 10 million units to carriers worldwide by this month.

The Galaxy S III is Samsung's flagship phone and has been dubbed by some as an iPhone killer. The phone boasts a 4.8-inch screen and is actually thinner than the iPhone 4s.

The Galaxy S III also runs Google's latest available version of Android, Ice Cream S andwich. But it'll quickly be outdated, as Google will be launching Jelly Bean, its next Android version, on some devices as early as mid-July, and the Galaxy S III is not one of them nor is there official word for when it might get the latest update.
